I started using Blender’s asset library fairly early on for base plates – 3mm height, 25mm around but eventually found that putting in weapons and other held objects would be really handy too. This is my collection so far. Some more crude than others as I had pulled them off of models and some I’ve generated as images and then run through Rodin. All of these have to be scaled and positioned and then the model is good to go.
Some models are generated with held items (like the Blender process images from the other day or the one attached). Sometimes I’ll try to fix these items by sharping or smoothing, pulling things around (like this example maybe) but sometimes the held item is a fragment of something random that doesn’t quite make sense as a weapon (like this example). So the asset library approach works well. Like the backlog of creatures / characters I have many many weapons to process – unfortunately bows and crossbows etc… don’t tend to generate really well but I’m working on this for whenever I manage to create Ranger character (150 models done now and no Rangers!?!).
That’s it for today :)!
