Part of posting on printables and thingiverse is that people view, like, download, organize (add to collections/lists) and MAKE your models. If you’re lucky then people even post photos of them. I was floored to see these ones show up on my feed. I think these are the first 3 (unless I’ve missed some) – we have 2 hippofolks (1x resin) and a tortlefolk that seems like it was a fairly large print.
This is awesome to see. I kinda have a bad habit of checking these sites a bit too much – the analytics are especially captivating.
Some observations that are probably wrong:
Printables models seem to get more traction but the audience is into the boring stuff (Humans, Elves, Dwarves)
Thingiverse seems to get more likes / engagment on other types of models (although my humans collection there has more likes than anywhere else)
Recently I added “AI” labels to all of my thingiverse models as it appears to be an option. We’ll see if this reduces the amount of likes that my models will get or if it improves over time.
Another site that I eventually want to post to is Cults 3d but until recently my output sizes weren’t really within their acceptable levels. Now that I have a bit better handle on model creation I think I could do it (and they have a “copy from thingiverse” feature). Another thing to throw onto the pile but hopefully means more makes :)!!
