I wasn’t quite sure where to add Revenants. I needed to make a few (interchangeable with phantom warriors) for the campaign I’m running and they kinda seem like Zombies.
My understanding is that Zombies are mindless husks – animated by necromancy. If they’re carrying a weapon they’ll use it but they aren’t going to pick one up. They’ll want straight towards their target even if that means they’ll fall into a pit (my understanding is that skeletons are smarter).
Revenants on the other hand are animated corpses by spirits that have unfinished business, generally in they’re in the revenge business. If their body is destroyed then they’ll find another one to inhabit and come back over and over and over again until their business is finished (unless they’re in Barovia then they’re stuck forever.. almost forever). The two revenants I have here can be seen wearing armor with crude weapons. They tend to punch but will use any weapon that they can find and prefer.
Druid zombies. The one with the spear, according to my notes, I originally had made back on Dec 23, 2024 and as a part of this collection I sculpted it again. This was a bit of a waste of effort but it was good reminder to keep these grouped and to publish or die… or be re-zombified in this case. The other druid (top right) I had labelled as a zombie hag – it could be a generic forest hag. At any rate – she 100% definitely eats children – it’s her thing. Both druids here could work as “blighted druids” that are corpses with bits of vines, branches etc… growing through them – maybe the roots and branches just use the humanoid body as armor.
Zombie Clerics. I really enjoyed seeing the zombie clerics come out from the image engine. My reaction was a 100% swipe right (in the AI tinder tool to approve the image for 3d object generation – not other kinds of swipe right…). These are great little figures and I really enjoyed sculpting the bits of bones and hollowed out eyes.
The male and female zombies (top left and bottom right in the feature image) have a bit more modern clothing. I tried putting in little sphere eyes instead of my typical ovals (the sphere were what I started with but moved to ovals – I’m thinking maybe I should move back…). I wanted to add weapons into their hands (as mentioned in my earlier post about zombie_female1) but also didn’t want to – it’s a weird bit of conflict…
The lines between undead get kinda blurry. Is it a zombie, skeleton which a bit of flesh, a revenant, ghost, phantom warrior, lich, ghoul, ghast or just animated leather armor that happens to have a corpse inside of it etc… etc….
That’s it for zombies for now. In the backlog there are LOTS of zombies and undead. There are zombie variants for almost every type of other model in the backlog so if there is something that you’d be interested seeing post here or shoot me a note and I’ll try adding it for you 🙂
You can see the files for these zombies on Printables and Thingiverse here:
