This has been on my “Todo” list for a long time. I’ve been working on contracts for mobile apps or doing mobile app adjacent work for years now and I really wanted to create and publish my own. This App is called “Spell Sage” and it exists to help answer questions like:
-
How many spells should I have? What about cantrips? How many can I have prepared…?
-
What’s my Spell attack bonus / Save DC etc…?
-
How many spell slots do I get back on a long / short rest?

It’s not a very sophisticated app but it has been an interesting journey to navigate the submission and publishing process. It was built using the Expo framework so it’s compatible with Android, iOS and Web out of the box. For the Android version it seems that I failed to hit the “Submit for Review” button so it might be another week or so before that goes live but I’m hopeful it will out soon as well!
Like with GMBuddy https://gmbuddy.com/ – my hope is that this resource helps to reduce mental load for players (and GMs!) so that they can focus on playing the game. I might try embedding this app into a page on GMBuddy.com – we’ll see what I can get working throughout the coming weeks here.
Bonus photos of the Fort test prints so far – my kids were playing a bit of level design and got carried away. I wonder who will be cleaning all of this up…

The first floor is almost done, OpenLock continues to work like a charm. I’m trying to decide if I want to run to the hardware store to buy black primer or if I’ll splurge on the expensive one from the art store down the street.

That’s all for now – I really just wanted to share this small success and side-quest update. Thanks as always for following along!
