Warforged are sentient, magical, robotic humanoid lifeforms from the wartorn world of Eberron. It’s a really neat setting and something I’d love to run or play someday.
I’ve attached the original source images, renders, models and the prints on this post – idk if I’ll do that for ALL the posts going forward but it kinda gives an idea of where we started and where we landed.
This is a bit of a smaller collection with only four models but everything seems like a big collection when I’m making regular version and CHONKY versions as well as with the baseplate and without (model count x 4). I did these earlier in January so there are definitely some newer practices that I would have like to have rolled into the mix for these. I honestly wasn’t too happy with the sculpting work I did. This was an interesting change from my regular work where I’ve been really focused on faces and getting details in place – these guys don’t really have faces so I wasn’t sure how they’d turn out.
Overall I’m really really happy with the print results though. Again, looking at the models I wasn’t happy but the physical miniatures inspire surprise and delight. Each has so much character and my head is spinning with backstories for them despite having no facial features…
