Another week, another update.

I don’t feel like I got through much at all this week but we still hit a milestone of getting all of the props done for Modular Barovia which was cool. There could be more props and some minis / creatures are also props but this was all of the ones on the props list so hooray.

The two new props this week were the piano and new stove. For those who have been around for ages you maybe know I’ve done many many props in the past as well. Pretty much anything in Google Drive under the decor/furniture section could easily be placed inside the Death House but since some of those used AI meshes or aren’t sized quite right for the Death House I’ve created a unique compilation of these specific files here – if you’re interested you can download them from this post – they’re completely free!

In this set of props we have:

  • Fireplaces

  • Dining Tables

  • Chairs (dining and lounge chairs)

  • An oven

  • Cabinets / Wardrobes

  • A Coat Rack (of Cloaks + a top hat!!)

  • Bookshelves + Pantry Shelves + Empty Shelves woo

  • A Desk + A desk with a bunch of mini props on it!

  • Beds – Single, Double, Master Bed + Maybe A Mimic

  • Dollhouses – Mini Death Houses

  • Chests / Storage Trunks

  • Mirrors / Painting / Picture Frames

  • A Crib for your new crib

  • A Square Piano

These exist and are free to you all because of the support from Patrons here and backers of the “Modular Barovia” Kickstarter. The goal of this project has been to create a modular terrain set that supports running Curse of Strahd and to be re-usable for other campaigns. While there are premium “textured” versions of the assets the goal was to create something for the community.

Thank you so much to all the supporters for helping to make this set a reality!

Next up will be the miniatures:

  • Gustav Durst

  • Elizabeth Durst

  • Rose + Thorne

  • Nanny

  • Animated Broom

  • Animated Armor

  • Stuffed Wolves

  • Swarms of Bugs

I have already made a Gustav Durst based off of the incredible Moonberry Maple’s designs. I don’t think I did him justice but I tried.

I had started working on Elizabeth Durst and got a bit overwhelmed with how terrible my character work can be so I gave up / set the work aside for now. This second phase of work will be me working through the stress / strain of making these minis that stress me out – I know that I can do some wicked grotesque minis but making genuinely nice looking characters is a daunting task.

This is my goal to get done over the next few weeks alongside test printing the Church of Barovia and refining parts as needed.

That’s all for this week – as always – thanks so much for following along!!
